Checkpoint is an instant photo experience that prints on (bpa-free) receipt paper, allowing people to capture memories in physical spaces in a whole new way. We want the future of social connection to happen IRL, not just through our personal devices. The checkpoint network consists of highly curated spots from all corners of culture - get out there and explore! What started as an art project between two students is now an IRL network of photoboxes that connect people via local hot spots to get people off their phones and into the real world. The checkpoint network is made up of vetted spots of the best in local culture, food, and shopping. We’re like your Michelin Guide for the coolest places in a city, as written by the next generation. Scan the QR code on the bottom of your receipt to see your photo in full color. You can also download, share it, get a black/white version, and see photos taken at the same place by tapping on the photo gallery.

A Gallery is a page dedicated to our locations where you can see the latest photos, notes, and people who have interacted there.

A space for you to submit your own captions for printouts! Simply tap the “leave a note” button and write a note (45 chars max). The Note is automatically printed on other receipts at the location you left it. More details here.

You can submit a waitlist request at checkpoint.pictures/waitlist. Due to a high volume of inquiries, we apologize in advance if we take a while to respond.
